Make a Difference. Every Day.
Welcome to the medicine department in Ystad – a department that is now taking a new, clear, and long-term step forward. Our operations have faced challenges, which we have learned from and which form the basis for a more stable and sustainable way of working. With a clear direction, strengthened structure, and a shared vision, we are now building further, and we believe in the journey we are taking together. We are looking for you who want to be part of this from the beginning and contribute to creating a stable, safe, and competent medicine department for the future.
The medicine department is the hub of healthcare, where you gain broad medical knowledge, meet many different patient groups, and develop deep clinical competence over time. It is the perfect place to grow – whether you are new to the profession or experienced and want to deepen your skills.
We are a smaller, independent department with the goal of growing step by step. This gives us closeness in the team, short decision-making paths, and great opportunities to shape the future ways of working together.
With us, you will:
- Work in an engaged and interdisciplinary team where collaboration, safety, and learning are central.
- Receive an individually tailored introduction and a development plan that follows you throughout your time with us.
- Have the opportunity to develop within the framework of Region Skåne's educational initiatives for nurses.
- Have ample space to contribute ideas, mentor students, and influence the department's continued development.
- Experience a work environment where we actively work to ensure that everyone – both patients and staff – feels seen, safe, and involved.
We actively work to fully implement person-centered care (PCV). In addition, we are preparing to implement the Competence and Service Model (KTM), which creates clarity in responsibility, development, and competence levels. Here, you will grow, specialize, and be an active part of building a robust and future-focused operation.
You will meet patients from the emergency department, acute care unit, and home – often with complex conditions and varying needs. This means that you will develop a broad and deep medical competence, while your work every day makes a concrete and important difference.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you will work with the care and treatment of adult patients with broad and complex internal medical conditions. The work involves continuous development both medically and in terms of care, where you will gradually build a stable and deep competence in internal medicine.
You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team where we together create a safe and cohesive care experience for our patients. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop within your nursing profession as well as in palliative care and infectious diseases.
Working in the medicine department also provides a broad medical technology foundation, as we care for patients with drains, optiflow, and NIV, giving you as a nurse a competence that is valuable throughout healthcare. Variation, learning, and development are a natural part of everyday life, and you are an important part of creating an operation we can all be proud of.
Do you want to help shape the future medicine department in Ystad? Then you are warmly welcome to become part of our dedicated team.

This role is for you who want to help develop the workplace to make it even better together with others. You are flexible and have a good ability to work both independently and in a team. To thrive in this position, you should find it easy to collaborate and possess good planning and prioritization skills. We would like you to share your knowledge, engagement, and positive attitude.
